 HackerSpace Seoul, “Living Photography” Workshop

This workshop was held as a public introduction to one of the projects I directed with HackerSpace Seoul. This event provided an overview of the biological protocols and technology behind the “Living Photography” project including the hardware, software and biological engineering. Topics included how we built what we believe to be the world’s largest petri dish and incubator and developed the software to control it. Dr. Suhyeon Yoon of Ewha University taught the genetic engineering used to insert a DNA plasmid into an E.Coli bacteria to express a pigment when exposed to UV light and how screen-printing technology is used to create an image in living bacteria.
